We have reached the second to last episode of The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2. After the District Attorney pulled a massive twist on Mickey Haller, in return, Haller decided to do something he did not intend to do when the trial began, putting Lisa Trammel on the stand.
The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2 Episode 9 Recap
The episode begins with Lisa Trammel freaking out about being put on the stand, and Mickey calms her down saying the last thing the jury sees can’t be Henry’s testimony. He tells her to stay calm and let them see her the way he sees her. On the stand, Lisa begins unpacking everything Mitchell did to complicate her life by not selling her restaurant.
The cross-examination of Lisa doesn’t help her case as Andrea picks apart her relationship with her ex-husband. As Andrea picked and picked at Lisa it led to her snapping out loud in the courtroom, giving her exactly what she wanted in front of the jury.
Mickey calls Dr. Arslanian to the stand, which he used as an independent study to investigate the murder. She proclaimed that Lisa was innocent but would show us why. She brought out a dummy named Manny and used Lorna to show that Lisa couldn’t have reached Mitchell’s head with the hammer.
What happens when Alex Grant testifies?
Alex Grant hits the stand where Mickey butters him up to set him up for the kill as they plan to use him as the potential person that would’ve “set up” Lisa for the murder of Mitchell. From his father’s arrest for fraud to his uncle being in trouble with the law, Micky attempted to paint the picture that Alex was just like the rest of his family, a criminal. When Mickey pushed Alex to his breaking point, Alex inserted his Fifth Amendment right to not answer any further questions.
The judge brings Mickey and Andrea into her chambers, where she goes off on Mickey because of the stunt he pulled. She wants to know if Mickey knew he would plead the fifth, and Mickey says he had no clue. Andrea scoffed at the notion, and the judge said that she would tell the judge to disregard his testimony, and they aren’t allowed any thought he might be guilty as a result.
Who is the surprise witness Mickey calls to the stand?
As the judge threw everything out, Mickey still needed to put doubts in the jury’s head about Alex Grant to take the pressure off his client. So in return, he called Cisco to the stand to testify. He testified that cameras outside of one of Grant’s businesses showed a van with Eagle Couriers on the side of it parked outside of the garage at the same time the murder of Mitchell Bondurant happened.
The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2 Episode 9 Ending Explained
One of Lisa’s employees at the restaurant drops off food to Mickey and Lorna. He sees a picture of a man and asks why Walter Kim, from the health department, has anything to do with the case. However, Mickey corrects him saying that he is a building inspector, and Lisa’s employee said he came to inspect the restaurant the day before she was arrested. Walter Kim’s job was on the line, so he could be what Mickey needs to reopen the case, but Cisco heads to his place where his wife says he’s been missing for two days.
