Elite Season 7 Episode 3 Recap
2.5

Summary

The classic party setup yields a little bit more pace and drama, but the season still feels aimless overall.

Are things picking up a little in Elite Season 7? That might be a touch ambitious, but at the very least Episode 3, “Bling-Bling”, has a bit more forward momentum. It’s still difficult to really isolate what the overarching story is supposed to be here, but there are enough interweaving dynamics to give things ticking over – for now, anyway.

Spoilers for the entire episode ahead, naturally.

Elite Season 7 Episode 3 Recap

Picking up from where we left off in Episode 2, Omar is curious about who sent the cry for help on the school app, and Roberta advises Isa to stay away from Didac, intimating that his family was responsible for poisoning Amazona.

“Bling-Bling” is so-called because Sara throws a bling-themed party for her birthday, under the pretense of celebrating Ivan moving in. A lot of attention seems to be on Ivan at the minute, since Carmen wants Chloe to befriend him, which she does by apologizing for coming on to him too strongly, securing an invite to Sara’s party.

Of course, Raul uses the party as an excuse to be overly affectionate with Sara, which doesn’t go unnoticed by Jessica, who has been in the same situation herself. She informs Sara that she’ll be holding a self-defense class for girls and that she should attend – expect Sara to learn Chekhov’s karate chop here at one point or another.

What does Luis do to Didac’s phone?

Luis, still working undercover, manages to steal Didac’s phone, install surveillance software on it, and return it to him. He overhears Isa and Didac breaking up, which concerns him since it limits the amount of information he can glean. The court has also denied his official wiretapping request, so he’s out of his jurisdiction here.

Later, though, he overhears them reconcile privately.

What happens at the party?

Elite has always loved a party, and Episode 3 is no different in that regard. Things seem to be going well enough – Joel skips work to attend, aggravating Omar – but they’re thrown for a bit of a loop from Chloe’s perspective when Carmen crashes it and starts bonding with Ivan.

To be fair, she gives Ivan good advice, which he seems to take on board. They dance, which is a little weird, but Chloe is annoyed at the idea of being used as a way for Carmen to bond with him. Carmen also seems genuinely pleased with how obviously happy Ivan is to see Joel.

What is Eric’s tattoo?

In a big subplot, Rocio, Nico, and Eric attend a protest of the social center eviction which takes several dodgy turns. Nico, uncomfortable, leaves, but Rocio and Eric remain resolute. While they’re changing into their disguises, the former spots a semicolon tattoo on the latter, but they’re interrupted by the police.

After a measure of authoritative brutality, there’s a gunshot and Rocio is arrested while Eric flees.

Who does Chloe sleep with?

Meanwhile, Omar makes the classic mistake of stalking social media, during which he spots a photo of Joel and Ivan looking very cozy. He runs into Sonia, who reassures him that nothing is going on between the two of them and they were simply dancing. When they go for a walk, she begins to suspect that it’s Chloe on the app.

Speaking of which, Chloe is up to her usual misbehavior and sleeps with Nico after telling him to leave Sonia alone. When Eric arrives, he flips Nico’s annoyance at him leaving Rocio around by pointing out his own hypocrisy.

Chloe tries to argue to Sonia that she only did it to prove to her that Nico isn’t a good person, but the argument doesn’t hold much water.

Elite Season 7 Episode 3 Ending Explained

At the end of the episode Omar and Joel get over their difficult patch and sleep together. But the big news is that Raul proposes to Sara, live. As ever with him, one gets the sense that what is traditionally a question really only has one viable answer.

Sara does what we expected her to do – she joins Jessica’s self-defense class.
