Episode 3 begins with a seen-before scene with Jae-won upset after seeing Seon-a looking very friendly with another man. He pretends he isn’t impacted by it as she approaches him, and she asks if he wants breakfast. She tells him he looked cute when he was asleep. Jae-won tries to hold her hand on the beach, but he hesitates, letting the moment get to him. Jae-won mentions that he saw her talking to Gyeong-gu earlier and wants to know that they spoke about it. Seon-a tells him she’s off to the movies together to watch Christopher Nolan movies. He’s clearly offended, and he’s not hiding his feelings well.
She drives me crazy!
Episode 3 then flits to the present day and the other reality contestants wonder if he wasn’t good in bed. He’s told that getting dumped is no big deal and that sleeping with someone doesn’t mean you are in love. The main advice is that if the woman treats it as a one night stand, so should the man. Jae-won expresses how Seon-a drove him crazy.
In the flashback, when Seon-a returns from the cinemas, Jae-won tries speaking to her, but she’s busy playing the ukulele, and it’s almost like he’s invisible. He feels he is being ignored. In response, Jae-won grabs a guitar and plays a similar tune outside. She listens intently and looks slightly confused. She then asks him if he can play the guitar. Jae-won tells Seon-a she should learn the guitar, but he feels invisible again. She’s playing games, and he’s letting her toy with him.
Seon-a continues to surf after learning off Jae-won. She sits next to him on the beach and then tries to nap. He wonders how she can do a “bottom-turn” now on the surfing board. He’s gutted that he never got to teach her. He uses his cap to make sure she has shade to nap. She senses that Jae-won is angry and apologises; she asks if she can go to his trailer later. Jae-won asks Seon-a to get up and asks if she’s toying with him. She tells him she will not come over then. Jae-won gets frustrated and walks off. He’s falling for game after game.
She hates herself
Jae-won creates an ultimatum for Seon-a — meet him by a certain time. If she doesn’t, he will assume she doesn’t like him. Seon-a had work at the time he proposed, but she thought it would be simpler to keep it as a one-night stand. She narrates how she pretended to be clueless — she tells herself that she came to the beach because she hated her real self — Lee Eun-o.
In the flashback, Seon-a did try and catch Jae-won at the time he gave her. She narrates that she became Seon-a to leave the coward Lee Eun-o behind, and follow her heart. Jae-won gives up and feels humiliated and drives off. After a change of heart, Seon-a makes it to the location given by Jae-won, but he’s gone. She takes a detour and stops him in the middle of the road.
Breathless, Seon-a runs up to Jae-won and hugs him. The pair are friends again. Jae-won asks why he likes her so much. The question remains — how did this couple end up not together?
