Wilderness is a Prime Video series based on the B.E. Jones novel of the same name. Marnie Dickens adapted the six-episode series with Oliver Jackson-Cohen and Jenna Coleman starring in the lead roles of Will and Liv.
Wilderness follows Liv and Will, a young British couple that seems to be living in a happy bubble. However, Liv finds some messages on Will’s phone leading to revenge, heartbreak, and murder.
When you are watching this series you will surely get the vibes of Gone Girl sprinkled in with a little Fatal Attraction. You have a central character in Liv who is trying to do the “right thing” by her man but also ensure that she doesn’t get the “I told you so” from her mother because Will turned out to be just like her father. As she struggles to balance things out, Will doesn’t help with his continued lying and cheating.

This series is one of the better-written thrillers we have seen this decade. With the series only having six episodes, you never have any dull moments where things are filled with unneeded storylines. Every moment felt pivotal in adding to the overall story. Of course, the performances from Jenna Coleman and Oliver Jackson-Cohen help take a well-written script to the next level.
Will there be a Wilderness Season 2 on Prime Video?

Wilderness‘s popularity will be fascinating to watch over the next few weeks. The creators wisely chose to use Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do” to promote the show, but it’s also used throughout the series. This will reel in viewers based on that alone, and if I am being honest, this series plays out like her song, which will have people talking. The watch time and audience score will be vital if Prime Video gives this a second season.
B.E. Jones has written six novels, but Wilderness was the last book that she has written. So, there is no sequel or follow-up to the story in book form. However, that hasn’t stopped creators from greenlighting a show’s second season.
With Wilderness being a one-off book in the B.E. Jones catalog, where could the series go from here? I have some theories that I would like to see. First, we could see Liv moving on with her life as she distanced herself from her past and Will. As a result, she meets a new man leading to her seeing similarities, causing mass issues. They could make the new guy completely innocent, but with Liv questioning things, she becomes unhinged. This would make for a new level of twists and turns.
