I’ve figured out what Watson needs to do to be interesting, which is to focus on everyone other than Watson himself.

If nothing else, The Hunting Party is heading in the right direction. Episode 7 seems to have settled on what works best about the show, much like the previous episode did.

To be fair to Suits LA, it hasn’t exactly flaunted its spin-off status. This is either for better or worse, depending on what you’re looking for, but it’s pretty hard to argue that Episode 4, “Batman Returns”, is the outing most obviously coasting on the association.

Buddhism is snaking through The White Lotus Season 3 like a vein, pumping life-giving thematic resonance through arteries and organs and back again.

I’m assuming that I know what the end of The Potato Lab is going to be already because it’s an enemies-to-lovers rom-com and they all tend to work the same in a macro sense.

Oh, boy. That was a lot, right? I can’t even begin to imagine how many viewers were left heartbroken by Volume 2 of When Life Gives You Tangerines.

Sometimes a show like The Potato Lab comes along and works almost in spite of itself. It’s an odd phenomenon.

Yellowjackets Season 3 felt like it was starting to get going in the previous episode, even though it was lacking those big, key developments.

You’ve got to appreciate Surface taking some chances in Season 2, even if the results might end up being a little mixed.

For the first time in Season 2, Severance delivered what many would consider to be a bad episode.

In many ways, Episode 6 of Reacher Season 3 is a payoff to the excellent fourth episode. That was where you really felt the menace of Xavier Quinn, the season’s Big Bad who has largely been developed through absence and implication.

It’s sometimes easy to forget that Matt Murdock is a lawyer since most of the justice he dispenses comes via his fists.

I was blindsided that we were offered a filler episode after the emotional ending in the last episode. But Mythic Quest Season 4, Episode 8 is decent, even if it does not move the story forward.

The White Lotus is always about a murder. Season 3 is potentially about several; we know this because the premiere featured a bunch of gunshots and at least one floating corpse.

This is more like it. Not to say, “I told you so”, obviously, but after an episode that let conventionality creep in, to its detriment, The Hunting Party really gets back on the right track in Episode 6.

Bad news – the dead brother is back. And this is no offense to Carson Egan, who plays Eddie Black perfectly well.

“The Man with the Glowing Chest” isn’t about a man with a glowing chest, though one does briefly feature.

There’s an easy charm to The Potato Lab that feels like alchemy; narrative gold from leaden rom-com tropes.
