Ricky Valero

Ricky Valero joined Ready Steady Cut in January 2022 as a Film and TV writer and critic, and since then has published over 700 articles on the website.

Ricky, a recognized movie critic, has been writing about films for almost a decade. Before jumping into the world of film, he was a professional wrestler for seven years. Since joining the industry, he has covered numerous movie festivals, including Sundance Film Festival, AFI Fest, and SXSW Festival.

He is a member of a couple of critic groups, including the prestigious Critics Choice Association. He’s an avid lover of stand-up comedy and deeply loves reality TV shows. Ricky is also a regular film critic for Hidden Remote and Music City Drive-In.

Outside of covering Film and TV, Ricky hosts the Love In Reality Podcast, which discusses Netflix’s Love is Blind and interviews the contestants. He also hosts the Popcorn People Podcast.

Ricky has a natural flair for interviewing well-respected, famous people in the industry. His interviews include Academy Award winners J.K. Simmons and Florian Zeller, along with Johnny Knoxville, Zachary Levi, and Jack Dylan Grazer, which he posts on his YouTube Channel.
