This Fool is a half-hour comedy that has returned for a second season on Hulu. The series was co-created by Chris Estrada, who based the series on his own life. In the first season, it felt like you could relate to many aspects of what was happening to our characters. However, in Season 2, they tried to balance too many stories while also taking themselves too seriously, taking away from the funnier moments. The critical and audience reaction mixed in with the watched minutes will be vital in whether or not we will get a Season 3. If the series is received as well or as close to Season 1, with it sitting at 100% with critics and 90% with audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, a quick renewal might be on the cards.
One big thing that is on the side of us possibly seeing a third season of This Fool is the current writers and actors strike. With the strike happening, we could see some shows get canceled and some shows get renewed, but typically (depending on how long the strike lasts), shows with built-in audiences that don’t cost as much for studios are the ones you expect to get brought back to life.
Where could the show go if we get a season three? With Minister Payne off to New York to visit his son, Luis heading to Cambodia, and Julio running the shop, we could easily pick up from the aftermath of all of those events. The show is based on life-like events, so they could explore the coffee shop struggling to stay afloat, or Ruby could agree to have kids leading to Luis adapting to becoming a father. The possibilities are endless when it comes to the show.
