Servant is a psychological horror series from Apple TV+, which happens to be one of the earliest shows to be released by the streaming platform and one of its longest-running properties to date as well. The Apple original was created by Tony Basgallop, who also created the equally twisted Prime Video series The Consultant.
M. Night Shyamalan (The Sixth Sense and Knock at the Cabin) initially served as the director on the show’s first-ever episode but has since become an executive producer and the unofficial showrunner for Servant, directing further installments along with his daughter Ishana Night Shyamalan.
The show follows the Turner family after a heart-wrenching tragedy in which their thirteen-week-old son Jericho died in horrific circumstances. They use a creepily realistic-looking reborn doll to keep the mother, Dorothy (Lauren Ambrose), from returning to her psychotic breakdown that soon developed after the death. Husband Sean (Toby Kebbell) and Dorothy’s brother Julian (Rupert Grint) try to keep up this charade by hiring a nanny called Leanne (Nell Tiger Free) to look after the doll. But they are completely unaware of what this deranged nanny is capable of once she steps foot into the Turner’s home.
The fourth season continues pushing many of the show’s mysteries and ambiguities. Fans desperately seek answers after four years of the creative team stringing viewers along, teasing additional clues, and purposely twisting fan theories. We discover more about the nanny Leanne and many eagerly anticipated secrets are unveiled, but most of those tantalizing mysteries remain unresolved. As the fourth season finale looms, fans will be dying to know if there will be a fifth season of Servant.
Will there be a Season 5 of Servant – renewed or canceled status
The fourth season of Servant will be the show’s last. Apple TV+ hasn’t technically canceled the show; instead, the series showrunner, M. Night Shyamalan, has decided to conclude the series with the fourth season. Initially, M. Night Shyamalan planned to release six seasons of the show, totaling sixty episodes, but he has since changed his mind.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the director mapped out the rest of the series and organically concluded the fourth season being the final one. He also found it easier to commit to four seasons than six, as he writes and directs his projects while the series plays out.
So that’s it; Season 4, Episode ten, “Fallen,” will be the final installment of Servant. Fans will hope all the remaining mysteries are resolved in this hotly anticipated finale. Will we find out the truth behind baby Jericho? Will we finally learn Leanne’s secrets and the truth behind her abilities? Will the Church of the Lesser Saints be explored in any greater detail? It seems unlikely that the show will answer all the fan’s questions, but hopefully, things will end fittingly and satisfactorily.
Nooooooooo!! Please M Night Shyamalan, good sir, produce the originally planned 6 seasons.
Servant, want more.
5*+
No way, please Mr Shamalans, don’t cancel servant. Fans are waiting for all of the answers. We’ve spent years watching Servant. Please don not leave the show on so many cliffhangers.
Mr Shyamalan, a spin off series with Weasley would be good
Don’t cancel it. You can go on to how Julian became part of the lesser saints.
Leannes origin story of her birth or possesion, julians intro to the cult leanne still doing things from hell while eating tomato soup with hitch
A spinoff would be better. I will be waiting….i enjoyed the show until it was canceled.
An awesome show. I’m saddened to see it end. Evoking that emotion is the sign of a really well executed vision for this show. Kudos.
Please please have a season 5. I absolutely love the show. I would hope you change your mind & have a season 5.
